Saturday, 12th September awoke with rain and grey skies – somewhat worrying – however by afternoon the sun came out and around 30 Conservative supporters were lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine in the lovely garden of David & Daphne Moore at The Old Carthouse in Aldermaston.
We were entertained for around and hour and a half by Saxitude – a local saxopohone quartet and then enjoyed a barbecue of sausages, burgers, chicken, ratatouille and all the trimmings – barbecuing by Peter Oldridge. The event was rounded off by drawing the raffle and most people left around 7.00pm as it was beginning to get chilly.
Thanks to all who attended, contributed to the meal and especially to the helpers who did a great job with all the accompaniments to the barbecue and the desserts.
Aldermaston Branch are hoping to have an event in late February/early March – possibly a Question Time similar to that held a few years ago at Wasing Park – so ‘watch this space’
