Richard Benyon has written to all Town and Parish Councils across the Newbury constituency, keen to encourage as many communities as possible to be part of this fantastic initiative to help clean up the UK in advance of HM the Queen’s 90th birthday.
‘Clean for the Queen’ brings together all the anti-litter organisations from the UK and aims to get people involved in the largest community-inspired action against litter. Adrian Evans, who was responsible for Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee Thames Pageant, is the Campaign Director. Country Life is behind the initiative and over 400 County, District, Town and Parish Councils are already on board.
The aim is for a series of litter picks and events to take place from 4th – 6th March.
Richard said, ‘I intend to be part of as many litter picks across the Newbury constituency as possible, working with Town and Parish Councils, residents groups, businesses and schools to ensure that we have as comprehensive a clean-up as possible’.
