Weather damaged roads in the district could benefit from almost £1.4 million extra investment to speed up the rate of repairs.
West Berkshire Counicl is to consider the plans at the council meeting on 14th May. If approved £1.39 million pounds from the Council's Highways and Transport Capital Programme would be released ahead of time and enable more roads to be resurfaced this year. This on top of the £4.2 million already allocated for road surfacing.
Keith Chopping, West Berkshire's Executive Councill for Highways said: "Road maintenance is a priority for the Council. The severe winter weather has taken a heavy toll on our roads and to release this extra funding early would mean action can be taken on more roads now. Spending the money this year will enable us to restore the affected roads as soon as possible."
