At a political meeting last night for all four candidates in the Hungerford by-election on 15th August 2013, local Conservative candidate James Podger displayed an excellent grasp of local issues in answering a range of questions from local residents.
Conservative Group Leader Gordon Lundie said, "I was impressed with the way that James handled a challenging local meeting. I have no doubt having seen this performance, that he would make an excellent West Berkshire Councillor. He was particularly skilled on his handling of questions on John O'Gaunt school, where Liberal Democrat opponents tried to suggest that one million pounds of additional expenditure at the school was a 'bad news' story. I should like to thank Martin Crane, the Mayor of Hungerford, for giving us the opportunity to hear more from all four candidates".
