Richard Benyon and Gordon Lundie, Leader of West Berkshire Council, have today reacted positively to the news that Berkshire has been allocated an indicative £3.56 million in Superfast Broadband funding.
The additional funding, which nationally totals £250 million, will enable business start ups and job creation in some of the most rural parts of the Newbury constituency. The nationwide rollout of Superfast Broadband is an essential component of the Government’s long term economic plan to secure Britain’s future.
Richard said, “This is great news. I hope that this additional funding will allow for Superfast Broadband to be taken to communities who may have originally missed out. Gordon and I are not complacent however and will keep pushing the Minister to ensure that we continue to secure further funds.”
